Tolerances you have to know!

Dimensional Tolerances for Rubber Molded Components

Unlike rigid machined materials, thermoset moulded elastomers do not lend themselves well to the same level of tolerance.
Being thermally moulded, elastomers are subject to many variables. Temperature, cure time, mould tolerance, mould registration, compound variation, and shrinkage are almost need to be considered by mould makers.

Need to remind when design SOFT RUBBER components!
If peoples ignore elastomers of the characteristics is more various change than plastic parts when process. If design tolerances are harsh require a high precision as a plastic part, the outcome is always a lot of uncertainty there.

Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA) is one of the most widely used ethical audit formats in the world.

SMETA is an audit methodology, providing a compilation of best practice ethical audit techniques. It is designed to help auditors conduct high-quality audits that encompass all aspects of responsible business practice, covering Sedex’s four pillars of Labour, Health and Safety, Environment and Business Ethics.

SMETA is designed for suppliers to share one audit with multiple customers, meeting multiple customer requirements and reducing duplication in ethical auditing. SMETA has three elements:

  • A common Best Practice Guidance on conducting ethical trade audits
  • A common Audit Report format
  • A common Corrective Action Plan format.

Sedex Stakeholder Forum (SSF) and SMETA 6.0

SSF is maintained to review and update SMETA on a regular basis to ensure it is meeting the current needs of responsible sourcing and incorporates new updates to legislation changes.

SMETA is developed and maintained by the Sedex Stakeholder Forum (the SSF). The latest version of SMETA was updated in April 2017 and was worked on by Amcor, Bureau Veritas, DNV, Givaudan, Kellogg, M&S, Pepsico, SAB Miller/ABInbev, SGS and Walmart.

Introduction

Change & Insight

1997-1998 Asia Financial Crisis

It's been a traumatic few months in the world's financial markets - not least in Asia. The devaluation of the Thai baht in July started a chain of devaluations across South East Asia...

πŸ™ Jump into the field after the financial crisis, remembered people’s living was difficult at that time for several years.

Explore
Works in the field over 20 years, that gives me chances of visiting & interviewing many factories to let learn a lot in the industrial market.
Change
What's different?
Value = Quality
Most concerning than ever before.

There are a lot of interesting and valuable to share with you …

Rules or No Rules!

Q:
How many peoples set RULES before start to work?

Are you experience, a project needs to work to other people but dead end without any hints.πŸ’€

*Try to think back what is the reason support to start at the beginning. πŸ‘€

LET GET START TO DESIGN RULES!
RULES are always benefited to classify and help to judge things good or bad, games win or lose...

Just the same as sport's game has game rules!

YOU ARE A REFEREE IN THE FIELD!

Rules Design Sharing
I visited & interviewed many of the manufacturers over the years.

Some of them were doing well but most are classified below average, to be honest.

< So FAIL rate is still higher than succeed πŸ™
